There are plenty of passages that discuss profanity, all of which say that it is prohibited and brings about a judgment from the Lord. There is a passage that refers to idle words, include profanity, gossip, creating discord among the brethren which is done with words.
Colossians 3:8 - But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Matthew 12:36-37 - But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
James 3:10 - Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
