I think not, you should glean information from any source that helps you understand spiritual things. If your writing a book and claiming other people's original work as your own, that's plagiarism. To avoid this, simply give attribution to the source.
Nobody knows it all, and when it comes to spiritual matters, unless it's an archeological find, chances are, nobodies going to have a new take on issues argued by millions for thousands of years.
If we haven't heard of it, that would be attributable to the fact we have not been everywhere nor read every account of biblical research, debates or accounts.
