No, there are many religious traditions, but most if not all of these traditions, have nothing to do with any requisite from God. As an example; the Baptist believe that salvation is not complete unless you are baptized, but there is no biblical basis for this practice.
The thief that died on the cross with Jesus was not required to jump off the cross to get baptized before he died in order to be saved.
Luke 23:41-43
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
In another account, Jesus demonstrates that God hears you at all times, not just when your praying.

Numbers 11:1-3 -God heard the people complaining..

2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire was quenched.
3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the Lord burnt among them.
Numbers 12:1-7 - God heard Aaron and Miriam talk about Moses behind his back
12 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

Relationships with God should be personal, you can talk to Him about anything at anytime, anywhere in any way, walking, eating an ice cream cone, in bed, on the toilet, driving, doing your hair etc…
The only thing you should do before you actually pray to the Lord is make sure you have no unforgivness in your heart or unconfessed sin, those would be the only things that can effect your prayer, but not your posture….
